Master Thesis on the Glacial History of the Yukon Coast (Canada)Background Large parts of the Arctic escaped glaciation during the last ice age. Even though modern maps show some parts of the Yukon Coast at the Arctic Ocean ice- free during the last ice age, we find large rocks (erratics) along the coast and withing sedimentary deposits. Where do these boulders come from and how have they been transported? This thesis is embedded in the Coastal Permafrost research group led by Prof. Dr. Hugues Lantuit at AWI, focusing on Arctic permafrost coasts under climate change.
