Marketing Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref.: 530357) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability).
This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional to join one of the world's top universities to further develop a range of successful and rapidly expanding education programs. The University of Hong Kong is a research-led comprehensive university that ranks 17th in the world in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. The appointee will focus mainly on marketing taught postgraduate programs in International and Public Affairs (International Relations) and Public Administration internationally. These programs have doubled in size in terms of student numbers in recent years. The Marketing Manager's main task will be to maintain and improve upon this strong performance in student recruitment.
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years' work experience in marketing or advertising, preferably with a strong affinity with marketing education programs internationally. The successful candidate will have an excellent command of spoken and written English, good communication and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem- solving skills, the ability to work independently and IT proficiency.
The Marketing Manager's main tasks will include developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns after conducting appropriate market research into market trends and emerging opportunities. They will work closely with Program Directors and other academics, current students and alumni to develop compelling marketing content, including student testimonials. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing these campaigns, including the production of marketing materials (video and text formats), managing websites and social media accounts, and engaging directly with applicants. The appointee is also expected to perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department. Working outside normal office hours, during weekends, and traveling outside Hong Kong will be required.
