Category: Campus Administration and OperationsThe full salary range for the Risk and Safety Intelligence Officer is $78,200 - $141,400 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is from $78,200- $115,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHSRM), the Risk and Safety Intelligence Officer serves as the primary technical lead for the EHSRM unit's data lifecycle and organizational insight functions. The incumbent functions with a high degree of autonomy to coordinate and administer complex systems for managing information, including UC systemwide platforms such as RSS, RDMS, iVOS, and internal HR and financial systems. The position is responsible for independently determining which data sets to analyze to provide strategic insights into divisional performance and the intersections between organizational losses. Beyond routine report generation, the incumbent leads analytical studies including SWOT and GAP analyses to identify root causes of safety and loss incidents and formulate data-driven recommendations for improvements of EH&S and Risk Management programs. Using seasoned analytical skills, the incumbent designs new safety, compliance and loss mitigation/prevention metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), creates advanced business intelligence tools (e.g., pivot tables and dashboards), and ensures the long-term accuracy and integrity of data used for campus-wide risk mitigation and strategic decision-making.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
