  • Position Summary:

    The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Seawolf Athletics is seeking applicants to join our team as a Marketing Assistant to assist with fan experience, marketing, and sponsor fulfillment. The UAA Seawolf athletic program is a multidivisional member of the NCAA, with 13 teams competing at the Division I and Division II Levels.

    Duties:

    100Manage event presentation development and execution for all UAA Athletics contests. Assist with the planning and execution of promotions and game day entertainment with the goal of enhancing a positive guest experience. Execute game day scripting, marketing and promotional operations utilizing public address, video board, and music to ensure sponsorship activation, promotions, giveaways, in-game features and brand integration. Assist with setup and instruction for anthem singers, color guards, and other forms of on-court/on- ice entertainment. Assist with Athletics social media. Assist with covering community appearances. Assist in donor stewardship and sponsor relations. Assist with managing sponsor contracts, tracking sponsor deliverables, and designing promotional material. Complete all assigned training to meet the requirements of the position in the specified period. Additional support and participation in UAA Athletic and University events as periodically requested by the Director of Athletics and/or University Administration. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, Senior Associate/Associate Directors, and/or the Director of Athletics.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent organizational skills required. Knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram and Snapchat required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently as well as work in a team environment. Ability to produce correspondence and documents in Google Workspace; specifically Gmail, Microsoft (MS) Office; specifically Excel and Word, and PDF editor program(s). Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    Previous experience with live event production preferred. Previous experience with athletics preferred.

    Required Experience & Education:

    To be eligible for student employment at UAA, a student must: a. be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester; and c. not work hours which interfere with class attendance; and d. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time temporary student position, $13.82 per hour, up to 15 hours per week.
