Teaching Fellow in marine microbiology molecular biology

Position from 01/02/24-30/06/24

We seek to appoint a fixed-team Teaching Fellow in the School of Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton to lead teaching in marine molecular biology and microbiology to FHEQ level 6 and level 7 undergraduate students. The post will involve leading taught theory sessions (lectures) in molecular biology, coordinating the delivery of group practicals in molecular biology and then contributing to computer based practicals for bioinformatic analysis. Guidance will also be provided in undertaking marking of students' assessments and coursework.

The applicant will have practical experience in marine molecular biology and microbiology and also practical experience of applying bioinformatic pipelines to metagenomic and/or metatranscriptomic data sets.
