impact initiative, stewarded by the Australian Government in partnership with
state and territory governments and 10 communities across Australia. It seeks
to disrupt disadvantage and create better futures for children and their
families through locally tailored and evidence-driven solutions to local
problems, in partnership with local people.
Working at CQUniversity
We are looking for an accomplished and creative Manager to lead the Stronger
Places, Stronger People (SPSP) initiative in the Capricornia Region. If you
have strong leadership skills and a passion for driving positive outcomes for
children and families in your community, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the SPSP Capricornia team,
fostering collaboration with the Community SPSP Leadership Group,
CQUniversity personnel, and local communities.
Project Coordination: Oversee participation, activities, and
stakeholder liaisons to achieve project deliverables in Rockhampton and
Livingstone Shire LGAs.
Strategy Development: Design and implement community strategies aimed
at improving outcomes for children and families.
Engagement Planning: Develop and implement an authentic engagement
plan in conjunction with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and
Australian South Sea Islander communities and other culturally and
linguistically diverse communities in the nominated LGAs.
Program Facilitation: Use your exceptional communication skills to
plan and facilitate programs that build on the efforts of local leaders
and organisations.
Budget Management: Oversee budget expenditure in line with grant
funding guidelines, providing accurate and timely reports to stakeholders.
Partnership Development: Cultivate partnerships that leverage
financial and in-kind support for specific projects, enhancing community
collaboration.
Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders,
including updates on KPIs, timelines, and financial data.

Position Requirements
Proficient knowledge in the Microsoft suite and large corporate
information systems including Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
Extensive knowledge of the workings of government and political
environment.
Completion of a degree or qualification in Management, or similar, with
relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant
experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples, Australian South Sea Islander peoples and
culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Outstanding organisational skills with the capacity to contribute to
strategic planning, coordinate the development and delivery of large
projects.
Local knowledge and have lived experience in the Rockhampton and
Livingstone Regional Local Government Areas.
Hold or eligible to hold a current Working with Children Check (Blue
Card).
