  • About the Role

    Reporting to the Associate Director: Operational Finance, the Manager: Operational Finance is responsible for:

  • Leading the development and implementation of finance strategies and activities
  • Providing high level expert advice to key stakeholders and staff
  • Identification, development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in the Academic Unit
  • Managing a range of finance activities for specific business areas within the Academic Unit(s)
  • The Manager: Operational Finance manages a team of Finance staff, both specialist and administrative.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate qualifications, together with active membership of a professional accounting body (e.g., Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a senior accounting position involving the development of forecasts, budgets and financial plans within a complex organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team including fostering an effective and service orientated culture in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated financial analysis and reporting skills and experience in the provision of financial advice and recommendations to senior executives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in applying financial and accrual accounting standards, structures, principles and practices
