About the Role

The Manager, HR Systems and Strategy is responsible for the strategic development, integration and operationalization, continuous improvement and leadership of the HR Technology systems and processes. This position plays a critical role reviewing the current platform and liaising with stakeholders, to understand the structural, integration of current system, new requirements, policy, process and operational requirements to support the changing technical and business requirements for the department.

Reporting to the AVP, Human Resources this is a comprehensive leadership position that owns the current system, design and implementation, maintenance, as well as continuous improvement of the systems function to support the organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership by supporting and fostering an environment of continuous improvement by leading and enabling the HR staff through process mapping and process documentation, integrated, workflows, that provide efficiency, consistency and aligned with best practice.
  • Responsible, with the HR System Technology team for ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee data is stored in the system.
  • Plan and create comprehensive reporting solutions and data analytics to highlight useful information and support decision making.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide enabling technology and tools utilizing data for reporting and workforce analytics projects.
  • Continuously evaluate the performance and functionality of HR systems and recommend enhancements or replacements.
  • Recommend a comprehensive HR Systems integration strategy to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and user experience across all HR applications.
  • Champion enterprise-wide solutions to enhance programs such as employee engagement, performance management, and learning and development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in other functional areas and provide guidance to the HR team on system process, tools to increase and maintain efficiencies and improve effectiveness for services provided.
  • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to build and maintain the strategic roadmap for people and reporting technology.
  • Develop, design, and implement functional policies and programs that lead to overarching changes in overall HR system business practices.
  • Assess existing HR processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, data accuracy, and automation.
  • Liaise with Senior leadership to assist in the development of strategic goals and objectives and staffing to enable technological solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest HR technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions that improve HR processes.
  • Liaise with other functional areas to consult specialized system complexities for solutions that align with cultural requirements, potentially around metrics, data, and training records.
  • Qualifications
  • University Bachelor Degree in a related discipline such as Human Resource Management or Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The following will be considered an asset:
  • CPHR, (SHRM and CISSP/CDP)
  • Training in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma
  • Certification in Data Analytics and Data visualization
  • Over 5 years of related Human Resources experience, including:
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience using an HRMS/HRIS.
  • Leading or supporting complex technology systems solutions from conception to implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, and to motivate and empower staff.
  • Experience in a post-secondary or professional services environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR processes, reporting tools and dashboard metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of building relationships, excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware and network problems.
  • Ability to write effective Standard Operating Procedures.
