The CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
The CNIC is searching for a Manager for the Research Office (RO) to stand in for a manager who will be on maternity leave. Managers support CNIC's Research Groups and Technical Units in a wide variety of processes, from grant and fellowship application, justification, budget monitoring, personnel recruitment, laboratory organization, basic laboratory techniques, laboratory equipment evaluation, and administrative tasks, and in the organization of scientific activities, among others. The Research Office is a hinge structure composed by scientific managers, logistics technicians and research assistants, aimed as a communication channel between the researchers and the general administrative structures of CNIC.

The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, set forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (concurso), the competition (concurso-oposición) must be the recruitment system”
In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-based recruitment system (concurso) including a personal interview.
At least 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 55 points as a sum of evaluation criteria (C1-C6) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C7) is higher than 70 points.
Composition of the Selection Commission :

Scoring criteria :
C1. Management knowledge and expertise in national grant schemes, preferably in health sector (direct experience related to these areas which will be assessed as a whole on a time/specialty ratio). 20%
C2. Management knowledge and expertise in European and international grant schemes, preferably in health sector (direct experience related to these areas which will be assessed as a whole on a time/specialty ratio). 20%
C3. Experience in budgeting and selection of personnel (direct experience related to these areas which will be assessed as a whole on a time/specialty ratio). 15%
C4. Experience in the redaction of scientific documents and public tenders (it will be evaluated in relation to direct experience related to these areas which will be assessed as a whole on a time/specialty ratio). 15%
C5. English level, B2 minimum or equivalent, creditable by official certification. 5%
C6. Complementary training: university master's degree or postgraduate university degree or specialisation course in the area of quality/project/research/innovation management (the number of complementary training courses and their relation to the post will be assessed). 5%
C7. Interview. 20%
