Manager, Development and Alumni (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the
Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref. 526457) (To commence as soon as
possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and
University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10%
of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory
performance)
HKU Business School Development and Alumni Team is looking for a results-
driven and experienced professional with a strong understanding of the
Mainland China market and a passion for business development in the
education sector to join our dynamic team.
Applicant should possess:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related
field.
At least 5 years' of experience in business development, fundraising or
partnership management, with a focus on the Mainland China market.
Demonstrated success in generating and delivering effective pitches and
securing funding or partnerships in Mainland China.
Strong understanding and experience in using Chinese social media
platforms, such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu, for business development
purposes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
in both Chinese and English.
Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
in a team environment.
An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
Roles & Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing business development strategies specifically
tailored to the Mainland China market, identifying and cultivating
partnerships, sponsorships, and funding opportunities for the school;
Establishing, maintaining and strengthening relationships with key
contacts in the corporate, government and non-profit sectors in Mainland
China, as well as with alumni and prospective donors;
Createing compelling pitch presentations and proposals in Chinese to
secure financial support and collaboration for various initiatives and
projects;
Leveraging on Chinese social media platforms, such as WeChat and
Xiaohongshu, to engage with potential partners and donors, and to promote
the school's initiatives;
Working closely with internal stakeholders to align Mainland China
fundraising and partnership objectives with the school's overall mission
and goals; and
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of business development
efforts in Mainland China, and proactively provide insights for continuous
improvement.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
