Manager, Communications and Public Relations (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Hong Kong (Ref.: 524687) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree, with about 8 years' full- time work experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); outstanding organisational, communication, project management and problem-solving skills; a high level of computer literacy; and the ability to multitask under pressure, work well both independently and in a team, as well as work with people from a broad range of backgrounds internally and externally. Experience in managing social media platforms would be an advantage.

The appointee will support the Faculty's Communications and Public Relations Team in planning, developing and implementing corporate communications strategies for brand promotion. Responsibilities of the appointee will include:

  • Planning and implementing a variety of corporate and PR events, including summits, ceremonies, seminars, workshops, press conferences, guest visits, partnership development events and other activities;
  • Providing full range of support on event management, including organisation, communication, logistics, coordination among event teams, on-site assistance, catering, vendor/supplier selection and management, budgeting, and handling patron inquiries;
  • Developing story angles and key messages, handling media inquiries, and maintaining positive relationships with the media and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication;
  • Generating content and managing both online and offline communication materials, such as speeches, press releases, eDMs, presentations, booklets, videos, and multimedia posts for various social media platforms to engage target audiences;
  • Creating, implementing, and optimising digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media promotion, and advertising;
  • Measuring and reporting the performance of all marketing campaigns, assessing against goals such as ROI and KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement, optimising campaigns, and consolidating insights and best practices; and
  • Undertaking any other duties assigned by the Faculty Office.
