The Role

We are looking for a high-calibre appointee to join the General Office of the School of Public Health (“the School”) to provide administrative support in various functions. Major responsibilities include:

  • Human resources management (e.g. selection, appointment, contract renewal, visa application, leave application, performance review);
  • Accounting management, office administration, database and archiving;
  • Liaison between the General Office and the Director's Office to ensure smooth operation of the School;
  • Liaison between academic divisions and Faculty Office/University central units;
  • Train and supervise junior staff; support efficiency improvement initiatives;
  • Coordinate academic seminars and visits, support events and working group meetings; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 7 years' relevant work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions;
  • Outstanding administration and management skills and experiences, particularly in human resources, finance and office administration,
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficiency in using IT software for administrative work;
  • Proven track record in staff supervision; experience in efficiency improvement will be an advantage;
  • Mature, reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and sound judgment; strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; and
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team; good sense of priority and able to deliver under tight deadlines.
  • What We Offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
