We currently have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Facilities team at the Ashmolean Museum as Facilities Maintenance Manager. The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology being the most visited University Museum in the World.

The role of Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Head of Buildings and Facilities, supporting them in the delivery of Building management across the Ashmolean Museum Estate. The Maintenance Manager leads the Facilities team including a Lead Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Technician and the Facilities assistant. You will take day to day responsibility of the facilities budget, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, the Facilities Help Desk system, daily staff duties and DLO/contractors working on site. You will also run internal Departmental Projects and play a key role in larger Museum Projects.

You will have an Advanced qualification in facilities management/buildings or construction, or equivalent experience. You will hold demonstrable experience of repair and maintenance Budget management and reporting. You will also have experience of managing and motivating staff with an understanding of project management principles. You'll be conversant with Health & Safety legislation, and with current COSHH and Manual Handling Regulations. You will also hold good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts. IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel is essential.

This is a permanent full-time, fixed-term position, working 37.5 hours per week.

This role requires the successful post holder to have Known Consignor status. You will therefore be required to provide employment and/or education history going back for a full 5 years in your application.
