  • Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary researcher for a leadership role in the prestigious 5-year Lloyd's Register Foundation Centre for Assuring Autonomy. Working in the exciting and topical field of safe autonomy and artificial intelligence, you will join a world-leading team and newly-funded centre focussing on these challenges. Your role will be pivotal: you will address challenging issues that support the centre's strategic ambitions, and work closely with the leadership team to evolve these.

Your track record and experience will allow you to make significant research and policy contributions to the assurance and regulation of autonomy and AI, and you will collaborate with researchers and non-academic partners to advance this field. You will have the required standing to provide thought leadership and represent both the centre and university as a lead technical expert.

As a key appointment in a new centre in the Department for Computer Science, you will join a high-performing, collegial, and intellectually curious team, and will be supported to apply for further fellowships and research grants to advance your research agenda and career.

    Interview date: w/c 11th March 2024
