    A unique opportunity has become available for a Livestock Partnerships Manager to join CQUniversity to work with researchers in the facilitation of research projects on Belmont Station and other rural properties.

    The livestock research team at CQUniversity are focused on developing knowledge, systems and tools that can be used by the industry to improve productivity and sustainability, particularly in the Northern beef sector. The group is transforming the way the livestock industries operate by working on the development of new and emerging digital technologies that automate data collection such as liveweight, pregnancy and calving detection, giving producers the information they need to make better management decisions. The team is also involved in developing new feeding systems, novel forages, methane mitigation strategies, microbiome optimisation and a range of other fields. This research group is looking for someone like you to help build on this research focus of transforming the global livestock industry.

    In this newly created position, the Livestock Partnerships Manager will primarily be responsible for fostering and maintaining positive working relationships between University researchers, AgForce, and livestock owners and providing coordination, oversight and management of livestock, pastures, crops, irrigation and machinery across Belmont and other properties.

    You will bring to this position your knowledge and experience in agriculture, animal science, rural sciences, or related field alongside proven experience in agribusiness, property/farm management and/or relationship management. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have significant experience managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Position Requirements

    Essential

  • Completion of a degree (Agriculture, Animal Science, Rural Sciences or related field) with extensive relevant experience, or extensive relevant experience and management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven experience in property/farm management, livestock and pasture management, or similar.
  • Significant experience in managing complex relationships between internal and external stakeholders to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Some experience in a supervisory role.
  • Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a research or business development role.
  • Postgraduate degree or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in any field.
