The La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) invites applications for the prestigious Marilyn Anderson Fellowship. This fellowship supports exceptional female scientists who have experienced a career interruption, providing an opportunity to establish their own laboratory and research directions at LIMS.

We are seeking outstanding candidates at either Level C or Level D. Applicants will be considered for the appropriate level based on their experience, qualifications, and career trajectory.

About the Role The Marilyn Anderson Fellow will conduct internationally competitive, multidisciplinary molecular research aligned with LIMS' strategic priorities. Areas of focus include biosensors, digital biology, synthetic biology, space biology, cancer, infection and immunity, and cardiovascular biology.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead high-impact research and publish in top-tier journals.
  • Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) and postgraduate students.
  • Actively engage with industry, government, and academic collaborators nationally and internationally.
  • Build sustainable partnerships and secure research funding through competitive grants, consultancies, and industry collaborations.

  • Completion of a PhD and postdoctoral research experience.
