Your new role
The Makerspace (or Warninyup – place of making) is situated within the Curtin University Library's Learning Success team. The team is dedicated to fostering the desire for learning by facilitating engaging and inclusive skill development opportunities for the Curtin community. The Curtin Library Makerspace is a creative learning environment that fosters exploration, innovation and play through making. By encouraging self-directed learning, we support individuals and groups to learn new skills and develop maker projects.
We are seeking a full time, ongoing Library Makerspace Officer to support the day-to-day operations of the Library's Makerspace which is dedicated to the development of creative and digital skills. Working within a larger team, you will support students in the use of the Makerspace's materials, tools and equipment with a focus on safety and compliance with the Health and Safety procedures, including the running of safety inductions for select activities.
The Library Makerspace Officer plays a central role in creating and maintaining an inspiring environment that encourages students to develop new skills.
