Applications are invited for the temporary 0.4 FTE post of Grade 3 Library Assistant (Ebooks) within the busy ebooks@cambridge team based in the Collections and Academic Liaison department of the main University Library. The successful candidate will work alongside the Grade 3 Library Assistant for whom this is part-time backfill cover to provide support in the acquisition of individual ebooks supporting teaching and learning, including the placing of orders and dealing with associated metadata, helping with troubleshooting queries and assisting with the gathering of usage data.
Working under the supervision of the Ebook Collections Manager and the Grade 5 Ebooks Assistant, the combined post of this and the other Grade 3 Library Assistant will see you helping with the delivery of the ebooks service through: close liaison with college, departmental, and faculty librarians concerning new recommendations; contact with ebook suppliers, including communications about usage data; the logging of information about new titles; and timely response to routine enquiries from users and librarians.
You will have good IT skills and attention to detail and have an interest in ebooks. Experience of using Alma is highly desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are essential.

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term until 31 March 2025 or the return of the post holder, whichever is earlier.
