Permanent Whole-Time Post
Applications are invited for the above permanent whole-time post in the Department of Archaeology within the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences. This is an opportunity to join one of Ireland's leading universities, and an academic unit with over a century-long record of teaching and research in Archaeology, as well as being the main provider of museum training in Ireland. Applicants should have a strong academic and professional interest in Museum Studies, as well as a background in the discipline of Archaeology. The successful applicant will be required to deliver foundation and advanced teaching in Museology and in material culture studies in Archaeology.
Candidates must hold a doctoral qualification in Museum Studies or material culture research in Archaeology from a recognised University, or evidence of near completion of a doctorate, at the time of application. They must have a record of research activity and relevant teaching experience, as well as work experience in museums. The holder of this post will be expected to promote Museum Studies at masters and doctoral level. They will also be required to contribute to the academic administration of the department and College, and to engage with external bodies in areas relating to Museum Studies and Archaeology.

Appointment may be made on the Lecturer Below the Bar Salary Scale: €40,685 - €70,328 (Scale B) / €42,732 - €66,921 (Scale A).
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
