Mathematics at University of Galway has a distinguished tradition of research and teaching, dating back to the establishment of the university in 1845. Our research efforts include the fields of Algebra & Combinatorics, Analysis & Topology, Linear & Multilinear Algebra, and Mathematical & Quantum Computation, all within the de Brún Centre for Mathematics.

We are now looking to recruit a talented and ambitious colleague to join our team as we strengthen our national and international position as a leader in quality research and education in mathematics. We are looking to deepen the research strengths in Mathematics by recruiting a mathematician who will work with other members of the de Brún Centre.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, graduate supervision, and research activities within the School, and will be expected to take a leading role in curriculum design and development. The School runs a range of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, our largest being the BSc in Financial Mathematics & Economics. It also runs a vibrant PhD programme.

Salary: €59,801 to €95,401 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University's Remuneration policy.
