    The Opportunity

    The Lecturer (Practice) will play a key role in developing clinical placements for allied health students in mental health. This role is part of a project team fulfilling the requirements of the ‘Reaching Out – Mental Health Pathways' grant from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care aimed at profiling careers in mental health. The Lecturer (Practice) will bring their experience from their profession to provide links between the University and industry. This position will contribute to scholarship-related activities including the supervision of student activity, and will engage in professional activities associated with the project such as reporting and evaluating student experiences.

    This position will act in liaison with healthcare, social and community organisations and the university to establish sustainable placements in new and extended mental health settings.

    As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of allied health mental health clinical placements in the academic program, development of new allied health placement settings as required in relation to professional practice and acting as a key liaison point for the School and Faculty in relation to professional external engagement activities, drawing on significant knowledge of community, government and industry processes and programs.

    To be appointable into this role you will have a PhD or relevant Masters Qualification and equivalent professional experience in an allied health discipline area.
