Salary

Description

:

The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) invites applications for a non- promotion-eligible, non-tenure track Lecturer position for the academic year 2023-2024. The position will commence no later than August 2023 and will end on 5/31/2024.

The position will likely teach two sections of UHLC's LSS course in the Fall of 2023, and two in the Spring of 2024. Examples of each for prior years are given by the links below:

https: // www. law.uh.edu/schedule/classinformation.asp?cid=18444 (Fall – 3 credits)

https: // www. law.uh.edu/schedule/classinformation.asp?cid=18616 (Spring – 2 credits)

An alternative potential schedule for the position is one LSS section for each semester, and one other course each semester, such as an upper-level writing course.

An attorney appointed to the position must, at a minimum, hold a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. As a non-tenure track position, the appointee will accrue no time toward tenure at the University of Houston.

The person who obtains the non-tenure track appointment for this position can be an internal candidate eligible to apply for available faculty positions within UHLC.

Please reference and review the University of Houston's NTT Faculty Policy, available at this link: https:// www. uh.edu/provost/faculty/current/non-tenure- track.

Also applicable are the UHLC bylaws provisions relating to the NTT position of Lecturer:
