We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual who can deliver excellent research and teaching in the field of Transport planning.
The successful applicant will contribute to the development and delivery of programmes in the areas of Transport Planning addressing issues of delivering net zero and decarbonisation and will involve teaching on specialist modules contributing on areas such as active travel services & infrastructure implementation, at postgraduate and undergraduate levels across the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) programmes.
The candidate will be able to demonstrate an excellent academic potential and an established track record of high-quality and innovative research activity. The focus of the academic track record should be on transport policy and planning for sustainable futures and is open to any area within that context. The post holder will be a member of academic staff in the Institute for Transport Studies.
Policy impact is at the core of our work and our Transport Planning research is being used by industry bodies such as DfT and city municipalities. More widely, we have developed significant strengths in Transport Planning, decarbonisation, transport policy and travel behaviour interactions; transport scheme design and impact analysis, for improving urban environments and achieving a socially just transition to net zero futures.
You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and have strong analytical skills, with experience in primary empirical work, with an appreciation of both traditional and new forms of data, in the field of transport planning.
