Lecturer in Tourism, Hospitality and Aviation Management

College of Business, Tech. & Engineering Academic Grade 7 - £38,205 to £42,978 per annum (depending on experience)

The role

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Hospitality, Tourism and Aviation professional with demonstrable contemporary knowledge, from working directly in or with relevant industries coupled with a strong academic background. You must be able to confidently teach in at least two of the following areas:

  • Service operations
  • Finance, data interpretation, revenue management and pricing
  • Strategic management and sustainability
  • Digital marketing and communications for the tourism, hospitality and aviation industries
  • Airport and airline planning and operations.
  • Artificial intelligence and digital technologies in tourism, hospitality and aviation
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work proactively is vital in this role along with the ability to inspire, motivate and connect with a range of different stakeholders such as our students, other academic teams and external clients. You do not need extensive experience of teaching; this is a great opportunity for an applicant with senior industry experience and a desire to inspire the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals to embark on a career in academia.

    Sheffield Business School has approximately 6,000 students and 220 academic staff. It has a long history dating back to the 1950's, before it was formally branded as the Sheffield Business School in 1986, which has since had significant success.
