Lecturer in Sport, Coaching and Performance Analysis

£39,347, rising to £42,978 Full Time, Permanent - Academic

This is a full time, permanent academic appointment, within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Overall purpose of post: We are looking for an individual with the knowledge and experience to deliver across our applied coaching practice modules. This includes both practical and theoretical elements with a specific focus on our coaching and performance analysis modules. Potential candidates should have experience within coaching or PE as a practitioner, either as a coach or coach developer as well as relevant academic credentials.

You should have:

  • Recent teaching experience at undergraduate level in Higher Education and research activity
  • Experience of work in applied coaching contexts either as a coach or performance support staff/Analyst, or coach educator/developer
  • Evidence of the ability to design, deliver and assess academic programmes
  • The ability to supervise undergraduate research projects.
  • You will be:

  • Teaching students using appropriate instruction methods such as lectures and online lectures, tutorials, seminars, practicals, e-learning and other formal pedagogic work - especially contributing to the delivery of modules which focus upon coaching science and performance analysis (utilising appropriate analytic software)
  • Working towards undertaking quality research and scholarly activity
  • Participating in the administrative processes of the Faculty, including committee membership, quality assurance, recruitment, selection and admission of students
  • Undertaking curriculum development work including identification of student requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses as well as course materials within the applied coaching practice strand.
