Permanent Whole-time Posts

UCC wishes to appoint two Lectureships in General Nursing. Each appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching, assessment and programme development and administration at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as engage in research relevant to nursing.

Each successful appointee will hold a professional nursing qualification, hold a registration (or be eligible to register) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland. Applicants will be expected to have an academic qualification to PhD / Doctorate level or be undertaking a PhD/doctorate, experience in teaching and assessing, and have considerable clinical experience in nursing.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery was established in 1994 and since then a wide range of programmes have been developed at both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. In addition, the School has a growing suite of Continuing Professional Development modules supporting life-long learning. Since 2012, the School has actively engaged in international recruitment and now has a growing body of international students. The School now has over 1,300 students and is one of the largest in the University. The School is committed to excellence and leadership in teaching, practice and research involving close collaborative relationships with health service providers, and national and international educators and researchers. The School holds the Athena Swan Bronze Award and is in the top 50 in QS Rankings

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship Salary Scale: Above the Bar €75,349- €97,582 (Scale B) / €71,689 - €92,701 (Scale A) or Below the Bar €39,787 - €68,943 (Scale B) / €41,814- €65,603 (Scale A)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy .
