  • About the Role

    As the Lecturer in Exercise Science, you will make an outstanding contribution to the Academic Unit's teaching of undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs, with a primary focus on the Human Movement and Exercise and Sport Science disciplines.

    You will make innovative contributions to the advancement of teaching and enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through the development of a program of collaborative research supported by competitive research grant funding.

    UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess undergraduate/postgraduate courses in the Academic Unit's programs
  • Contribute to the on-going development of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels by establishing and collaborating with a network of key stakeholders and implementing innovative approaches that include flexible and online delivery
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity, which results in publications in both academic refereed and professional journals and the presentation of conference papers and seminars
  • Actively contribute to Academic Unit and University activities, particularly in raising the profile of the Academic Unit's programs and research engagement with industry, external funding bodies and research consumers
  • Essential Skills and Experience

  • PhD qualification in a relevant research field
  • Professional registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant association (e.g. Exercise and Sports Science Australia).
  • Demonstrated experience and a commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies and modes of delivery.
  • An established early research record or a developing research track record and demonstrated experience conducting research or scholarly activity, which results in publications in peer reviewed journals
