About the role

Are you on the Operations Management / Supply Chain Management / Project Management academic job market this year?

The School of Management at the University of Bath is inviting applications for two Lecturers / Assistant Professors (Research & Teaching) to work within the Information, Decisions and Operations (IDO) Division.

The IDO Division consists of around 35 faculty with diverse research portfolios, ranging from empirical OM / SCM / PM (see for example Jens Roehrich), OR / MS / Analytics (see for example Maria Battarra), and IS / cyber security (see for example, Adam Joinson). For a look at the kind of work we do, see the IDO website, Centre for Smart Warehousing and Logistics Systems, Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats, and Centre for Healthcare Innovation and Improvement (CHI²) (bath.ac.uk).

Bath School of Management is one of the highest-ranking management schools in Europe in terms of both its research and education. Research support includes funding for conference attendance, data collection and research visits; a dedicated grant support team; and generous research allowances within our workload.

The IDO Division has excellent industry and academic networks which support a thriving and highly collegiate environment. Our probation system offers Lecturers/Assistant Professors the possibility to obtain tenure after three years. Requirements for tenure (and promotion) focus on the quality of research outputs and teaching delivery, and are comparable to other top business schools.

In addition to the research role, you will contribute to our range of highly rated undergraduate and postgraduate offerings. The Division's teaching portfolio includes specialist MSc programmes in Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Business Analytics; Innovation and Technology Management; and Engineering and Business Management, as well as more general management undergraduate and MBA programmes. As we grow our portfolio of on- line delivery, we are also interested in candidates who have experience in designing and delivering via digital channels.
