  • Kingston Business School is keen to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Lecturer level to lead our business law modules. As an experienced lecturer you will showcase innovative and inclusive teaching to support our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You will deliver and assess a range of modules including Business Law and Ethics, Landlord and Tennant Law, and Company Law, developing a curriculum that integrates a professional legal perspective into modern business teaching.

You will be a member of a department that promotes industry-focused and practice-based learning. You will join a collegiate team of academics, whose research interests provide exciting opportunities for students to benefit from research-led teaching, workshops and seminars. Through your pursuit of opportunities that enhance the faculty's reputation in higher education and occupational circles, you'll have the opportunity to influence the role of law teaching within the business school.

    The Person

You will have, or be working towards a PhD, and have relevant professional experience in the Law sector. You will demonstrate the potential to publish in quality journals, attract externally-funded research, or engage in knowledge transfer partnerships. You will bring a strong track record of excellent teaching or hold a recognised teaching or learning qualification.

If you have not already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we will need you to do so before the end of your probation period.

    The Faculty

The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences combines Kingston Business School and the School of Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences. Driven by a forward- thinking approach, the faculty is dynamic, innovative and ambitious. We focus on business and social challenges that impact us all such as decision making, sustainable development and individual resilience.

Together, the schools strive to nurture socially responsible, well-informed and actively engaged members of society who graduate as adaptable, ambitious and solutions-focused professionals.

Practical experience and real-life learning is at the heart of our degrees. Our graduates will be equipped with the skills to manage and navigate a world that needs employees to be digitally skilled and to have highly developed people management skills, emotional intelligence as well as innovative, entrepreneurial drive.

Kingston Business School has triple accreditation, which recognises the high quality and standard of our business degree offering. The AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) Business Accreditation signals to the world that Kingston Business School has met the most rigorous standards of excellence in business education. In addition, many of our courses are also accredited and recognised by professional bodies, including the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

For the past eight years, we have been one of the top two universities in the country for graduates starting up their own businesses, a reputation built by providing industry-respected business and management courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
