  • About ARU

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. We hold a Gold award for the quality of our education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading.

We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England and are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

Our research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields to deliver impactful research that tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities.

    About the role

IT Services delivers all aspects of information-technology service and support across ARU, providing a first-class experience to our students, staff and other stakeholders as they pursue their studies and work on campus and beyond.

This is your opportunity to take a key role in our Service, managing our data centres and a range of campus- and cloud- hosted systems, services and storage. You will lead an escalated support team that maintains and supports solutions critical to our University's information-technology provision.

With a degree or relevant professional qualification at degree level along with evidence of continuing professional development, you will have experience of data centre and cloud operations, provider liaison and technical team management.

While knowledge of Microsoft Directory Services and system virtualisation are essential, we recognise that this is area of significant demand in the industry and are committed to enhancing the post holder through a structured programme of training and development.

Interviews are scheduled for the week of 16 December 2024 and will be held in person on our Cambridge Campus.

Informal enquires about the role can be made to Brian Best, Head of Core Infrastructure, at [email protected]
