This is a part-time position. Benefits include retirement and educational assistance of up to 6 credit hours per academic year.

Working hours:

Monday – Friday; up to 29 hours per week. Hours will vary.

Arrange a classroom to facilitate learning and meet the needs of each child individually. Serve as a Lead Teacher for a group of children that may range in age from six weeks through ten years, in a child care setting. Observe, assess, and assemble developmental records on children in their care. Plan and organize classroom activities/experiences to facilitate and enhance learning for the children in their classroom.

Education & Formal Training Other Education & Formal Training

Associate's degree in the following field(s) of study: Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child & Family Development OR

Bachelor's degree in the following field(s) of study: Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child & Family Development OR

Child Development Associate (CDA).

Computer Skills Desktop Publishing, Word-Processing, Spreadsheet Experience

One year experience working in a formal child care program setting required.

Transcripts are required as part of the interview process.

Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Child care security check, Fingerprinting, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements

Child care security check: Family Care Safety Registry.

Fingerprinting: if assigned to Early Head Start classroom.

Irregular work hours: Workshops and trainings may be scheduled on some nights and weekends. Professional appearance: Appropriate comfortable clothing to play with children.

Ability to Keyboard No keyboarding test required. Special Qualifications: Post-offer physical exam required. Other Special Qualifications

Post-offer physical exam and TB screening as required by licensing and accreditation within 30 days of employment.

In compliance with accreditation guidelines, incumbent must have Child Development Associate (CDA) or at least an Associate's degree in Child Development.

Per state regulations, incumbent is required to attend training workshops as a condition of employment each year.

Family Care Safety Registry screenings are required for all workers in a child care setting, as required by child care licensing and accreditation.

If a CDA is used to meet qualifications, candidate must get the additional certification within one year if the position applied for is not in the area of the applicant's current CDA. Candidate is responsible to maintain certification throughout employment.

First aid and CPR training required within 90 days of employment.
