Lancaster University's vision is to be a leading global university and to deliver the highest quality student experience; its purpose is to advance knowledge, wisdom and understanding. We recognise that spirituality is a consistent dimension of human flourishing and wisdom across our interconnected global world, expressed in different religious traditions and communities. Faith and spirituality are key in the literacy of leadership today. Many of our staff and students identify with different world religions. Just as significantly, growing numbers of young people while not belonging to traditional religious communities state that spirituality is an important part of their lives, and are seeking to craft a way of life in line with their fundamental values, and to be a positive transformative force in the world. Therefore we are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our University as a Lead Chaplain who will lead the transformation of our chaplaincy to be a place of spiritual development, challenge and encounter for those who do, and do not, identify with a religious tradition or community; a chaplaincy to meet the aims of an ambitious Top 15 University and its student and staff community.

We would love to hear from you if you can help us deliver the above. For an informal chat about the role please contact Sabiha Patel, Associate Director, Student Wellbeing and Inclusion at: [email protected].
