Position InformationThe LCME/Special Events Administrative Specialist is responsible for providing analytical and project management support for the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation process and Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA) team. Coordinates special events to include LCME accreditation process, conferences and events as needed. Responsibilities will be providing and tracking supporting documentation, tracking progress of various documents/materials, scheduling meetings, and taking minutes for meetings. Provides programmatic and administrative support on a wide range of issues, projects, programs and on matters of importance to the School of Medicine. Represents the SOM in a professional manner, exercising sound judgment, tact and the utmost discretion. Schedules meetings for LCME executive leadership team, WGEA team and special events committees and coordinates all aspects of those meetings/events. Staffs relevant SOM committees and work groups; develops and distributes agendas, attends meetings, takes meeting minutes, records highlights, tracks action items and initiates follow up as necessary. Maintains electronic and hard copy filing systems for easy retrieval. Initiates policies and procedures within the office to achieve maximum efficiency.
Please note this position is career with a projected end date of June 30, 2024. The position may be renewed/extended, contingent upon funding and business operational needs.

Minimum RequirementsAbility to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Ability to remain flexible at all times with changing priorities and last minute changes. Demonstrated ability to determine and locate relevant and reliable sources for the collection of information and data. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing. Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of academic and administrative structure of UCR.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
