  • Position Summary:

    Kenai Peninsula College is looking for excellent adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face or online courses in support of programs at one or more of the Soldotna or Seward locations representing KPC.

    Duties:

    100The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with the specific course content description. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught.Essential

    Kenai Peninsula College has locations throughout the peninsula. This position will teach face-to-face or online courses (for credit) in support of programs at one or more of the Soldotna or Seward locations representing Kenai Peninsula College.     The KPC adjunct pool is for the 2023-2024 academic year and will be closed in June 2024 when a new pool will be opened for the next academic year.

    Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract. Individual instructors will be chosen from the pool on a semester by semester basis based on a department's needs.

    KPC is comprised of: Kenai River Campus (KRC) in Soldotna, Kachemak Bay Campus (KBC) in Homer and Resurrection Bay Extension Site (RBES) in Seward.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students.

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the subject matter to college students.

    Required Experience & Education:

    For academic areas, such as the arts, sciences, humanities and social sciences, adjunct instructors should have a master's degree in the discipline or related subject area.

    Career/technical education adjunct instructors credentials vary based on the discipline and may require a bachelors, masters, or certification in the subject area. In some cases extensive experience in the subject area may be considered.

    Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment. Qualifying earned degrees must be conferred either by institutions of higher education which are accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations or by an equivalent international institution of higher education as determined by UAA based on a review by a foreign educational credential evaluation service and recognized by UAA.

    Salary Information:

    Adjunct positions are union represented employees and will be paid according to the salary table approved by the CBA.
