To strengthen our finance team, we are looking for a

(Junior) Finance Officer - Grant Controlling (m/f/d) Full-time, 40 hours per week, Vienna, Austria

Together with a colleague you will be in contact with external funding agencies and support our scientists in reporting to the funding agencies to ensure correct implementation in accordance with legal requirements. Furthermore, you will support the finance team with continuous internal and external financial reporting.

Your tasks
  • Support the submission and controlling of projects funded by public and private sources. Advising researchers on the management of their projects as part of a dedicated post-award team.

  • Provide guidance, advice, and administrative services to researchers in the financial management and controlling of their national and international third-party funding (grants), e.g. FWF, EU, ...

  • Control the financial processing of grants (e.g. budget planning, financial reporting, budget monitoring, project closure) including preparation and support of external audits.

  • Maintenance and processing of external funding data

  • Act as the main communication interface with funding agencies and other collaborators on post-award matters.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting

  • Liaise with internal and external partners

  • Contribute to the development of internal financial and digital processes

  • Your profile
  • Successfully completed commercial/business education (HAK, University or FH)

  • advanced knowledge of MS Excel, previous knowledge of SAP is an advantage

  • Very good command of English (main working language), and proficiency in German

  • High sense of responsibility and discretion, reliable and service-oriented

  • Interest in science and medicine

  • Experience in an international, academic or research environment is an advantage

  • Experience in controlling, grant management or accounting is an advantage
