Job title Part-time Research Assistant: The Oxford Psychological Interventions for Children and adolescents (TOPIC)

Department of Psychiatry, Warneford Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7JX

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant post on an exciting National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded project that focuses on implementing a novel ‘identification-to-intervention' approach for anxiety problems through primary schools.

The post is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford. The post is part-time (50% FTE).

The post is for a fixed term (12 months).

The team are currently running a large trial to evaluate procedures for screening for anxiety problems in primary schools and providing parents with online and telephone support. If the trial shows this is an effective approach, our hope is that Mental Health Support Teams could work with schools to implement the ‘identification-to-intervention' approach in routine practice.

This new project will use qualitative and co-production methods to identify adaptations we need to make to our ‘identification-to-intervention' procedures and create materials and resources for delivery through Mental Health Support Teams.

You will provide support for stakeholder consultation, participant recruitment and qualitative data collection, and co-production activities.

You will have a degree (2:1 or above) in psychology or related field, together with some relevant experience. You will have knowledge or experience of child mental health and recruiting research participants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders are essential. Experience collecting/analysing qualitative data would be desirable.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement and a CV as part of your application.

The closing date for the post is midday on 23rd February 2024.
