    Position Summary

    The IT Security Analyst is responsible in supporting RMIT in the identification and work-to-resolution of cyber threats that may impact on the confidentiality, availability and integrity of RMIT services. The role also supports the configuration and running of security tools to measure, manage and report on the state of Information Security across the enterprise; including the analysis and resolution of cyber incidents. This position actively collaborates with other operational teams in Vietnam and Australia to deliver a secure enterprise and advisory support to help RMIT manage today's increasing cybersecurity threat landscape.

    Reporting Line

    Reports to: IT Security Manager

    Key Accountabilities

  • Support the effective global operation of the Cybersecurity function (eg, Threat Management; Identity Management and Threat Intelligence technologies and processes)

  • Provide advice to IT team with the configuration of Information Security controls across the operating environment

  • Contributes to the design and implementation of pragmatic and efficient cybersecurity defenses

  • Support the activities of Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in RMIT Global

  • Support in the monitoring of cybersecurity environmental threats; including periodic cyber technical compliance reporting of our operating environment

  • Ensure the compliance of security standards, processes and procedures by continuously monitoring for vulnerabilities, periodic audits and identifying abnormality throughout the infrastructure

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT Security function based on an in-depth knowledge of contemporary cybersecurity practices and trends

  • Any other duties as required.

  • Key Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline.

  • At least 2 - 3 years of experience in security operations.

  • CEH/Security+ certification is a plus.

  • Well-developed understanding of cybersecurity technologies (eg, Threat Management / Intelligence; Identity management; User access review)

  • Demonstrated good understanding of wide range of IT infrastructure components, from firewalls and intrusion detection systems to network and network protocols to variety of PC platform such as Windows/Linux and understand of their security capacity.

  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks and delivery a quality service to the University.

  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients, in order to identify and solve issues.

  • Proven capacity to work under stress and to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment.

  • English Proficiency

    English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General with a score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

    For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
