IT Officer/IT Technician (Several posts) in the Department of Computer Science (Ref.: 526129) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Computing/Computer Engineering/Data Science or related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years' proven work experience in system development, software platform and web-based application development. They are expected to have strong technical skills and knowledge in infrastructure administration and information security, as well as competency in programming, such as PHP, C#, AWS for backend development, MySQL, PostgreSQL for database, HTML/CSS and Vue.JS/ReactJS/JavaScript/Angular.js. They should also have a good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English; good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. They should be able to work independently as well as in a team and under tight schedules; be capable to demonstrating and collaborating with stakeholders in achieving project goals. Those with lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as IT Technicians.
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in a large-scale project. The project aims to manage and develop software platform for intelligent timebanking, where helpers earn time credits through voluntary services and use them to acquire other services such as event enrolment. He/she will be responsible for working with the team to develop new functions and AI technologies for the software platform and web-based backend. Experience in developing software for social-care-related institutions (e.g., NGOs) will be preferred. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
