  • Position Summary:

    The Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) is recruiting for Student IT Help Desk Technicians. The helpdesk provides first contact student, staff and faculty technical support. They are the first person a customer sees and often the first person a customer speaks with. They are expected to be courteous, prompt, and self-sufficient. Help desk employees will sometimes work nights with limited supervision.

    Duties:

    100- Provide telephone support for technology-related problems to students, faculty, and staff - Identify and solve general to complex computer problems - Identify and refer field specific problems to senior technicians - Maintain computer labs - Maintain Inventory and Records - Create reports and perform data management tasks - Assist faculty and staff in the creation of accessible documents - Work under general direction - Other duties as assignedEssential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Knowledge of Blackboard and UAOnline - Completion of approved customer service training - General Administrative Duties - Familiarity with video streaming services - Knowledge of HTML beneficial, but not required -Ability to become familiar with industry standards for accessible digital content and educational technology tools

    Required Experience & Education:

    - Must pass a skills assessment

    NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.

    Salary Information: This is a Student Assistant Level 2 Step 1, $11.34/hr Labor Pool at KPC. Special Instructions to Applicants:
