Job description
IP Commercialisation and Incubation Officer
Research and Innovation Office
Part-time, open ended (0.5 FTE)
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Research and Innovation Office to support the IP Commercialisation and Incubation Team (IPC&I) as an IP Commercialisation and Incubation Officer.
The role will be varied and interesting, providing support to the IPC&I Team to manage, maintain, and administer electronic project management systems and databases used for managing Intellectual Property (IP), to liaise with external specialist agents to carry out patent prosecution and commercial consultants to support commercialisation, to gather data and monitor income from licensees and spin-out companies. The role will also involve providing active support to colleagues co-ordinating business incubation services, events and activities both on and off-campus.
Reporting to the Incubator Manager, the post-holder will receive mentoring and training as needed from colleagues. Whilst we would value previous experience of managing intellectual property this role might also suit an individual looking to develop a career in university technology transfer or interested in entrepreneurship and the formation of new businesses from cutting-edge University research.
