  • About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

    About the Role:

Predominantly based at our Cambridge campus (with occasional travel to Chelmsford), the role will lead the development of a co-ordinated targeted support for international students in different learning settings. The role holder will work closely with professional services and academic course teams such that support is embedded into delivery where appropriate, and available in a co- or extra- curricular fashion. The role will require student facing activity at times.

The postholder will bring knowledge of student support and be informed by an understanding both of the challenges of entering UK HE from other leaning cultures, and of methods toward enhancing student success.

You'll have a degree, appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role. You'll have experience of delivering education services to international student cohorts, planning and co-ordinating activities (or similar) within an organisation. You will have a successful record of administration and management of information from different sources, be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and a good working understanding of using Microsoft Excel. You will be able to work effectively across a complex, fast-paced environment, be able to work effectively in a team and demonstrate personable attributes required for being student facing.

Informal enquiries can be made to Matthew Timmis, Director of Student Outcomes, at [email protected]
