International Recruitment, Partnerships, and Mobility
The International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) team makes up part of the External Relations Directorate and has around 60 staff working in four key areas, spanning international student recruitment; short courses; exchange and study abroad; and global partnerships.
The International Recruitment team within IRPM is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow our international student population at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and achieve institutional diversification objectives. This is a challenging and rewarding role as the sector navigates significant changes in the external environment and as the University of York pursues its 2030 strategic vision to become a “University for Public Good”.
Role
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and talented professional to work as a member of the leadership and management team within International Student Recruitment, taking responsibility for delivering international recruitment objectives for the Americas, Middle East, Africa & Europe. You will lead a team of home and in-country staff to develop and manage the recruitment and sales channels of the territory and deliver against recruitment targets for the designated markets. This is a strategic role that includes leading on high-level projects assigned by the Deputy Director (International Recruitment & Partnerships) as well as identifying and capitalising on business development opportunities for the University to take forward its international strategy.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed
Experienced in operating successfully in the international higher education sector, you will thrive in a target-driven environment and have experience of successfully leading, managing and motivating others to achieve results. We are looking for a self-starter who is quick to take the initiative, spot new opportunities and gain the confidence of a range of stakeholders.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with wide-range of people of differing backgrounds, cultures and levels of seniority.
Significant experience of developing and implementing international recruitment strategies in a range of markets is essential, as is a strong customer focus and commitment to service delivery.
You will need to have outstanding communication skills and strong organisational and project management skills.
