Job Purpose

As an International Officer you will work directly with the International Recruitment Manager (IRM) for North America & Wider Europe, Senior International Officer (SIO) for Wider Europe and other IRMs and SIOs in meeting institutional and College targets in relation to the University's International Recruitment Strategies and agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Furthermore, you will identify and facilitate the development of partnerships/collaborations with key institutions, agents, government agencies and other contacts within and outwith the University. You will support the delivery of institutional internationalisation strategic objectives and provide a friendly and efficient service to international students and visitors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Represent the University to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students and their influencers at a wide range of events across target European markets. Develop and maintain good working relationships with secondary schools/colleges and other relevant external bodies and with individual applicants.

2. Work closely with designated University Colleges and Schools offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, capturing and sharing market intelligence and recruitment USPs, advising, developing and implementing recruitment and conversion plans in line with need and according to recruitment priorities.

3. Contribute to and deliver recruitment and conversion activities, supporting and developing the recruitment team's operational plan in alignment with the Service's and University's strategic priorities.

4. Jointly support and enhance the schedule of the University's on- and off- campus visit programme for prospective students, applicants, groups and their influencers

5. Ensure market competitiveness of the University by benchmarking against competitor Higher Education Institutions' recruitment and conversion activities and materials, participating in relevant internal and external networks as required.

6. Assist in the management and development of the extensive schedule of external recruitment and marketing events run by a range of providers across Europe, attending events and informing logistical support.

7. Work in partnership with Recruitment Marketing and Marketing Communications colleagues to ensure marketing materials are effectively tailored to meet the aims of the recruitment team.

8. Ensure that information on the University's undergraduate, postgraduate, relevant country, admission and funding web pages is accurate via liaison with academic and service colleagues.

9. Advise and support responses to prospective student enquires via CRM and/or the student recruitment inboxes, discussion in the Student Room forums and other routes of enquiry or discussion.

10. To contribute to the enhancement of the University's international profile in line with the University's Strategy; Inspiring People, Changing the World.

11. In conjunction with the IRM and SIO, assist with International Summer School marketing and conversion.

12. To represent the University on professional groups, sector wide forums and committees as required.

13. To input to the development and implementation of the University's promotional and student recruitment strategy for Europe, as required.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Knowledge/Qualifications

Essential:

A1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar related role(s). Or: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4, Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.

A2 Up to date knowledge of Higher Education systems

A3 Some knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education system and application systems (e.g. UCAS).

A4 Some knowledge of broader external market environment

Desirable:

B1 Possess an understanding of the University of Glasgow

B2 Knowledge of institutional and College strategic priorities

B3 in-depth knowledge of the University's degree programmes and research strengths

C8 Knowledge of databases, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Word

Experience

Essential:

E1 Relevant work experience or work experience without relevant qualifications in a Higher Educational recruitment/marketing office

E2 Experience of market development and relationship management

E3 Experience of event attendance and presenting to an audience

E4 Experience of leading or initiating projects with measurable outcomes and implications across wider teams.

E5 Experience of complex administration within a pressurised working environment

Desirable:

Terms and Conditions

Salary will be Grade 6, £32,332 - £36,024 per annum.

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
