Professionally-trained instructors teach young girls at a residential in art exploration, storytelling, dance, music, and theatre. Fine Arts Camp focuses on educating young girls and developing their communication, critical, and analytical thinking skills. At the end of the week, campers present their work in a Performing Arts Forum on the Saint Mary's College stage. Participants will explore four fine arts disciplines: music, dance, theater, and studio art over five days.

Daily classes in these disciplines are combined with a performance class where each camper specializes in a specific art form. At the end of the week, families are invited to attend a performance of what the campers have been creating. Instructors will develop a curriculum, teach morning and afternoon sessions, supervise counselors, who act as classroom assistants, and participate in the Performing Arts Forum on Friday afternoon at the conclusion of the camp week. Instructors will also assist during registration and orientation on Sunday, some evening activities and participate in the field trip.

Job Duties

  • Develop a curriculum under the direction of the Camp Director
  • Provide instruction with (3) 75- minute classes and (1) 90-minute class per day (Monday-Friday)
  • Responsible for supervising campers during , talent shows, evening performances and the filed trip.
  • Responsible for assisting at registration, orientation and departure each week.
  • Serve as a role model for young adults.
  • Required attendance at a wrap-up session at the end of the program.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    College graduate with at least one year of teaching experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Camp experience helpful
  • Experience in supervising girls ages 10-17
