In vivo Support Technicians (Animal Technician)

Cancer Research UK is passionate about finding new ways to further our understanding of cancer, with the Cambridge Institute leading the way in which novel approaches are investigated and developed in order to come closer to the goal of beating cancer. Become a member of the Cambridge Institute community and join us in making a difference in patient's lives.

Within the Biological Resources Unit, we work very closely with research groups in order to deliver award winning science. This close relationship allows our technicians to be an integral part of the discoveries and breakthroughs at the Institute and also provides them unique opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and experiences.

We are open to those new to animal science right through to experienced junior animal technologists.

We promote a strong culture of care both for our staff and the animals under our charge. The successful candidates will work with the 3R's ethos (for reproducible and ethical research, that has open, fair, and inclusive communication with focus on compassion and respect) and be responsible for the care and welfare of small rodent cancer models housed within the facility and help with maintaining a good standard of hygiene. Further details and weightings can be found in the Further Particulars.

The successful candidate will also have access to a broad selection of staff benefits including discounts at a wide range of local and national businesses.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, successful candidates will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part- time working or other flexible working arrangements.
