  • About This Opportunity

    Join a dynamic team, in this newly established position and play a pivotal role in elevating our global impact and sustainability standing. As our Impact Rankings Manager, you'll be responsible for driving our success in impact and sustainability rankings, namely the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking and QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) for Sustainability. You will implement strategic approaches to support the University's performance in international and national rankings programs and coordinate initiatives to foster high quality impact ranking data submissions.

    Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implement the development of analytics and evaluation processes for tracking, measuring and reporting on research impact;

  • Spearhead the planning, processes, and communication of impactful research ranking submissions, celebrating the University's research achievements.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of university ranking requirements and trends nationally and globally

  • Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders and provide high quality advice on impact rankings, including briefs to the senior executive;

  • Foster collaborative relationships, actively contributing to team success and sustainability goals in alignment with the UQ Sustainability Strategy 2021-2025.

  • About You

    You'll be a highly analytical and collaborative leader with experience in research support and university rankings, adept at managing projects, fostering communication, and delivering impactful results.

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience working in high-performing research support teams; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;

  • High level analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, collaborate, consult and negotiate with staff at all levels, as well as with external agencies and those with non-specialist knowledge;

  • Proven experience in coordinating, developing, and delivering documentation and training related to systems and processes;

  • Ability to initiate strategic projects and bring them to a satisfactory conclusion within the specified timeframe;

  • Understanding of or the ability to rapidly gain the understanding of the higher education sector and in particular university-based research drivers and nature of research impact;

  • Commitment to delivering accurate and timely responses under pressure, whilst maintaining a quality client service focus.

  • Experience/demonstrated understanding of university rankings.

  • The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.

    What We Can Offer

    This is a full-time, 2-year fixed term position at HEW Level 8. The full- time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,975 - $122,176 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $127,500– $142,942 per annum.
