We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an IHTM Senior Teaching and Research Associate in Statistics and Epidemiology to join our dynamic course team on the renowned MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine (IHTM) here at the Nuffield Department of Medicine. You will be based in Oxford, leading the Statistics and Epidemiology teaching on IHTM.

Int his role, you will have opportunities to explore specific research possibilities within and beyond the broader Oxford Tropical Network (OTN) that best suits your background, interests and career development.

You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating the Statistics and Epidemiology teaching and support for the MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine. You will be supporting and teaching on IHTM as needed and appropriate, including mentoring MSc students and supervising Masters dissertations, as well as acting as course advisor to IHTM students in accordance with agreed procedures. You will also be taking responsibility for all aspects of statistical input into IHTM research projects, including study design, data handling, statistical analysis, interpretation of result.

It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in statistics, epidemiology or related field along with teaching experience at the post-graduate level. You will have demonstrated interest in applying statistics to research in resource limited settings, as well as the ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams. You will have experience in various statistical analysis packages, particularly R software and with a wide range of statistical methodology including but not restricted to causal inference and experimental designs.
