How will you contribute?

You will be contributing to the research and integration of Large Language Models in the BESSER project, aimed at building better smart software faster. By smart software we mean software that combines traditional and AI-based components.

In particular, you'll be working on the multi-lingual aspects of the platform, making sure that BESSER is able to generate software systems able to work in multiple languages. This is a challenge especially for low-resource languages (i.e. languages that do not have enough data for training and/or aren't well supported in current mainstream LLMs).

A combination of LLM testing (mainly to assess the support of a LLM for a given language, including linguistic and cultural aspects), data synthesis, data modeling and processing, LLM fine-tuning/adaptation, modelling techniques (metamodeling, DSLs, …) will be used.

You will be in charge of:

  • Evaluate LLM support for low-resourced languages, in particular Luxembourgish but with the goal of generalizing the techniques to other languages.
  • Improve low-resource languages in open-source LLMs
  • Add to BESSER support for modeling software systems that could be relying on these LLMs.
  • Participate in research papers and materials presenting and promoting the platform
  • Collaborate in other AI related initiatives going on or under preparation in the team
