Hockey Development Officer, Department Of Sport And Physical Activity

Fixed Term Whole Time Post

(3 years)

UCC wishes to appoint an experienced Hockey Officer to the Department of Sport and Physical Activity reporting to Head of Sport and Physical Activity and working directly with UCC Hockey Clubs (women and men). The Hockey Officer will have proven ability in leading hockey performance and development programmes, managing players, coaches and other support personnel. Hockey is a well-established sport in UCC with well over 150 players, coaches, and volunteers involved with men's and women's competitive, social, and reactional hockey. Our teams attract young players from Munster and increasingly from South Leinster and other parts of the country. While the UCC Hockey women's teams are one the leading programmes for competitive women's hockey in Munster and Ireland, the men's teams are in a period of flux so the new appointee will be tasked with reinvigorating this part of the club.

Over the last 12 months we have signed a major partnership with Munster Hockey whereby UCC is lead partner for all age grade provincial teams to promote and develop Hockey in the province and to promote the UCC brand. This has been a significant success, gaining national attention which will build over the next 3 years.

Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

For an information package including full details of the post, selection criteria and application process see https: // ore.ucc.ie/. The University, at its discretion, may undertake to make an additional appointment(s) from this competition following the conclusion of the process.

Informal enquiries can be made in confidence to Director of Sport & Physical Activity, Email: [email protected]
