Details
Title HMS - Postdoctoral Fellow in Cell Biology
School Harvard Medical School
Department/Area Cell Biology
Position Description We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Flanagan lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Our laboratory works on the development, degeneration and regeneration of the nervous system. At the level of fundamental cell biological mechanisms, our particular interest is in how cells signal to one another through cell surface receptors and their ligands, and how aberrations of this process can lead to disease. Currently we have a special interest in Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, and our current work is leading to new mechanistic insights as well as novel directions for active translation to therapeutic approaches.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. John Flanagan to develop a research project within the scope of the lab focus. In addition to carrying out research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members, and contribute to overall lab operations and a collaborative environment.
